How ould you feel if you found out your husband was going to upgrade the center stone of your ering...
without telling you
So, bc Anthony is sooo not slick, i have a great suspicion that hes going to change the center stone of my engagement ring to a bigger one...
I know i should be "happy" but i feel torn. Yeah, its nice that ill have a bigger stone but it wont be the one that he proposed with....
Im sentimental like that..
How can i politely tell him no....without letting him know that i know

Is it a trade in? meaning the smaller for the larger or will you still have the original stone. If you can still keep the original stone you can make a pendant out of it.

Tell him that a girl you know at work just showed you her new e-ring, and that her DH changed the center stone, and while you're telling the story, add that you would feel awful if the stone that your DH proposed to you with was ever altered

I would be served with divorce papers first. Personally and Dh agrees that we think that is horrible and defeats the whole purpose of it being your Ering.
Call it something else and get a different ring.
We were 22 when Dh proposed and well I got a great ring for a 22 year old.

I am not sure how I would feel - I LOVE my stone and it is a perfect size for me. Maybe down the road I would feel a little different, but now I doubt I would want it changed - it is the most special thing I own (besides my wedding ring)

to answer your question about how would i feel - ill come right out and say that as a non sentimental person, i would love an upgrade! does that mean i WANT one right now or request one- of course not- but to have even bigger bling would certainly be a nice treat!
as for how to tell him if you dont like the idea- just tell him about your opinion - like someone else said - tell him how you dont agree with the girls that get ring upgrades..im sure he will get the hint

i was thinking the same thing. don't let him have it. if he makes up an excuse about needing your ring for a cleaning or something, tell him it's too hard for you to part with it for that long. you love your ring too much. i'm sure he will change his mind.
i love my ring and could never see myself upgrading. but i can't see my husband offering either!

I'd probably be straight up about it and tel him that I know. I'd tell him that I would rather have him buy me a new diamond that is not a trade in, even if not the same as the one he could get with a trade in. Keep the old and get something new, even if it's not something for your e-ring finger.

Although I can't say I am super attached to my stone so if he wanted to get me a bigger stone for my ring and then reset the old one I would probably be ok with it (not gonna happen anytime soon though so I don't have to worry )
