How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa Claus?

A poll.

I was about 7 when my friend's sister ruined it for me!

But I still believe in the spirit of Santa Claus (as in, the people who randomly hand out money to other folks, or those that pay off people's layaway bills..)

I think I was 9 years old. My sister was born when I was 8 and that's when all of my castles started crumbling around me. At least I had a good 8 year run as the only child.

9 almost 10, I was in 4th grade. My best friend and I both found our presents hidden in our houses a couple of weeks before Christmas.

I was raised Jewish and my parents were adamant in never letting us believe he was real.

I started questioning at 8, and I stopped believing at 10.

i dont recall exactly which year i stopped believing, but my mom always told me "once you stop believing, the magic is gone." so, of course, i went along with santa and gifts on christmas morning for a while longer before telling my mom that i knew it wasnt true

i do recall the first year that there was no "santa" in our house. i was 11. we all exchanged gifts christmas eve (no need to wait till christmas morning)...and boy, let me tell you, when i woke up that christmas morning with NOTHING to look forward to, it was depressssssssing!!!!!

I think I was 8 or 9. I dont actually remember not believing anymore. We moved around a lot when I was little, so I'm basing it off the last place we lived when I know I still believed.

I was WAY TOO OLD....probably middle school? I was super naive.

I never believed. I mean, to this day I believe in Santa - the spirit of season etc., but not that an actual fat man in a red suit brings gifts, KWIM? Same as a kid.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm hispanic and my family just didn't build it up like that. I knew who Santa was, but I knew that gifts were from my aunt or grandma or mom, etc. There was never a moment of "oh no! he's NOT real???" for me and I like that. I still enjoyed Christmas and in fact it's always been my favorite holiday.

I remember how but i dont remember how old... maybe 8? I found my list to santa hidden in a closet... And then I think I tried to fake it for a while after that

Not sure. Every year my brother would tell me santa claus is not real and then he would retract it and say he was kidding. I never knew what to believe. I was confused for many years.

This is the same guy who would wake 5 year old me up in July and send me around the house looking for Easter eggs. Now he treats me like a queen to make up for all those years of torture

6 but only because I found the stash of presents and my mom wasn't very good at playing it off. We already tell DD that Santa brings presents but so do Mom and Dad. I mean how else can I explain to her when we adopt a family and buy toys for the kids??

i cant remember the exact age but i was older, I remeber around 8ish i started questioning it, Seeing gifts in the closet, noticing santa and my mom had the same wrapping papper n name tags lol.. However i never wanted to believe he wasnt real. I was a immature kid, lol
I do however remeber when i was 10 my mom said to me n my sister "I know u know that santa and the easter bunny arnt real but pretend for your little brother" even though i knew at that point santa wasnt real it still made me sad to hear it!! lol

I was in fourth grade. I was starting to question it, but I went along with anyway - I had three younger siblings. As we were walking to the Christmas play (I went to catholic school), my friend, Greg, was like you know, he isn't real. Sure, I had an idea, but I didn't know for sure. I pretended to believe until 6th grade because I was afraid I wouldn't get gifts if I stopped.
