How much do you plan to spend on Xmas gifts?

I was just curious on how much people spent on their families during xmas...with FH and I saving for a wedding and house, we are trying to be frugal this year

honestly. I never know until I get out there shopping. I always say im gonna start early I never do...

I usually wait till the last minute and then I get screwed on thinking of things to buy.

Excluding ourselves we set a $1300 budget.

For DH, its as much as I can afford..lol. We prob get each other 1 big gift, 4 medium gifts and a few stocking stuffers. I do spend the most on him and vice versa

Rest of my family is a 40 limit. We set that 3 years back when everyone started getting married, etc. The only 1 who dioes have a limit is my 3 year old niece! lol But I dont spend more than 60 on her with clothes, books and toys

I've never really noticed, but I know it's a problem...

Last year we started the "Lets only buy for kids"...It helped a lot and we plan on continuing it again this year.

We do Kids, parents, and siblings only and luckily we don't have too many kids in our family yet. Excluding our gifts to eachother we usually spend over $1000

We used to buy presents for all 9 nieces and nephews, and our parents. But we too are saving for a house so this year, we're only spending on each other (with a $100 limit per person), and our parents. The whole family agreed on it.

We'll be together, that's the important thing anyway.

I have my parents, 5 brothers and sisters, 4 nieces and nephews and DH has his parents and 2 brothers and 5 nieces and nephews.. Let's just say we usually end up spending more than $2000, including the girfts we buy each other and our own 2 children!!

last year we did a grab bag amongst those over 21 with a budget of $100. you could not get a grab bag for a person in your house. all the children under 21 got a gift. I probably spent slightly less, but gave better gifts. there are 17 people among my bros, sis and nieces and nephews to buy gifst for.

We were just talking about this so I can get started. we have 7 nephews on DH's side and 1 on mine - $40 max each and the adults do a secret santa - otherwise it gets ridiculous and people are just getting started having kids!

I answered up to $500, but that is not including what DH and I spend on each other. we'll see... I always say "I won't spend much this year" riiiiiiiiiiiight!

Egad, too much AND we've scaled it down to "just the kids" (10 nieces/nephews/friend's kids)...DH is very generous when it comes to giving gifts.

I tried several times to start a secret Santa or buy just for the kids, but none of my siblings are interested. so....too much, but we try to set a limit.

DH and I usually don't exchange. It's all about DD and she had such a huge birthday I'm not going to go totally crazy with Christmas. We just have my mom and DH's parents and nephew so we don't have to spend much. It's nice.

I have my parents and my sibilings (I am the oldest of 5) then dh has his parents and his 2 nieces and 1 nephew (I already bought for them though and wrapped i might add) For his brother and sister, they are both married we decided this year that the 6 of us are going to see a musical and go to dinner and the grandparents are gonna babysit. We usually do a kris kringle with a $100 limit. On all the family members I spend no more than $50 a person and spend more on DH.

we spend "about" $1200-$1500 a year....but we decided to scale down this year. We did a modified scale downb last year...we used to spend about $3000. We have done well cutting it down an hopefully this year even more.

It depends on how much xmas bonus' we get. It is usually about $1,000.

we have 3 kids, plus other family members (niece, nephew, sibkings, parents), we EASILY spend over $3,000, easily, maybe even more

I don't know...this year is going to be tough...For DH one big gift and a few smaller ones...then I usually only buy for my immediate family...but DH buys for majority of his family b/c Christmas is really big in his family....and maybe good friends idk...we'll see what the money situation is...between 1-1500 hopefully

Not much, that's for sure. We just bought a house and we need to buy a new car.
