I paid $700 for Johns cake. Its was for 100 people+. All the decorations were sugar sculptures henceforth the big price tag

I honestly don't know what I'd do in this department but I had no idea that cakes were so much money! We only paid $20 for her Christening cake which was from BJs but one guest said "You should have gotten it from Dortoni's" -- although she is the same guest that didn't even bring a card or give a gift or anything! So I'm not letting it bother me.
I probably wouldn't spend more then about $50 but we don't have a whole lot of extra money. If we did I could justify $100, but much more then that I couldn't.

That's pretty freakin' rude!  You should have told her eating a piece of cake is optional and Dortoni closes at 9.

I got my sons at Costco and it fed about 50ppl and then some...it was delicious and it cost about $15 i think. They are excellent and VERY inexpensive...Remember...It's only a cake!
