How many people are invited to your baby shower
I am writing up the addresses now and we are close to 110 people. Is that too excessive you think? There is no one that I can really cut out. I just want to see what the norm is!!!

I would really like to have a casual jack and jill bbq where everyone can come over and hang out. But im not planning it, my sister is. If she decideds to do something more formal with just women it will be about 25 women and 5 kids. If she does the casual bbq thing, it will be more people.

I think it entirely depends upon how large your family is. If you tend to have large family gatherings then it makes sense.
It also depends if you are inviting friends of you mom's/parents, MIL, etc.
My friend owns the restaurant I had my shower at and he said the most showers they see are between 40 and 60 people.
ETA: Sometimes at large showers all of the gifts can't be opened due to time constraints. Just a caution, the older ladies tend to get VERY upset over this if you don't open their gift in front of everyone. It happened to a friend of mine and caused a lot of family drama.

At my bridal shower there were about 90 people there. My moms list alone is about 60 people and then me and my MILs list make up the rest. Just seems like alot to me - and I'm wondering now if I have registered for enough stuff.

I had about 35 adults at mine - can't remember how many I invited. Usually it's about 20% no-show?

I'm having two showers since my and DH's family are so far apart.
My family's shower in PA will be about 10-15 people.
DH's family's shower will be about 15-20 people.
Then we will have a work shower (we work for the same dept in the same company).
I don't think I even KNOW 110 people!!

I don't feel so bad anymore! Do you feel like you had to register for more stuff since you were having almost double the usualy amount? I REALLY want no part of going back to register for more!

Invited 40 and I think 30-35 people were actually there. I wanted something really informal and intimate. I wanted to enjoy the time with my guests.

YES!!! guests were calling my mom and mil telling them to have me add more things to my registry..I started opening gifts 1/2 hour after I arrived up until about 10 minutes before the shower was over..

What else should I register for?????

I think it will vary person to person. DH and I do not have a lot of family here, so my list is 65, which includes 5-6 obligatory out of town relatives. Otherwise the rest is DH's local immediate family and our friends.

How about diapers...that is something you will always need and then some. You could do different stages and store them because they dont go bad.
Add more onesies-different ages and some things that you will need once the baby is older..a potty, travel booster seat etc.

The list right now is at like 70 , but I just cut that down a little. I think its too much, I really think baby showers are more intimate, or its what i would like. I HATE that my MIL and aunt whos throwing it are inviting people I dont know well. I dont see a reason for it.

I completely agree - and - if it were up to me I would cut my inlaws list in half. They don't speak to anyone on the list - and I don't even know these people - neither does my DH. I hate inviting people to things like this - and then accepting gifts from them. It is so awkward.
As for my moms list - we have a huge family and she really cut out all that she could already. I don't mind her people. Just the inlaws - but what else is new there?!
