How long do you stay in the hospital...
if you deliver vaginally?

Its usually 2 nights but if your baby is born before midnight that counts as your first night.
For example, my DD was born at 11:35pm on a Monday night and we were discharged Tuesday morning.
Does that make sense?
I guess maybe other insurances could be different but I think that's the norm.

2-3 days. If you request it you can leave 24 hours later.

2 days after you deliver barring any complications.
For Maddie, I delivered at 2:27am - so I had the option of staying through the 3rd day. I wanted her out as quickly as possible since Joseph had spent a week in the hospital after birth.

I delivered at 1:25pm on Saturday and left Monday at around 12pm.

I gave birth at 5:02am on Thursday and went home that saturday but was discharged around noon because my doctor came a little late.

I was there less than 48 hours.
I gave birth at 12:59am on Sunday, so they didn't want to count that as the first night, but I did! So I left on Monday, as soon as they would discharge Ella.
