How long do you have to put in a claim for an accident with your insurance.
I was in an accident 2 weeks ago with woman who was driving a rental car (it was Totally her fault).. now I'm getting nervous that her insurance through Hertz isn't going to cover it and I didn't put in a claim with my insurance because I dont' want my rates to go up.. but now I'm thinking I should, but I don't know the time limit.

Not sure about car insurance. I thought you had 48 hours to file a police report.
Did you file a police report at the time of the accident?

yes the police came to the accident and took all the info.. I've already gotten a copy of the report.

If ur not at fault, ur rates wont go up therefore I would call and make the claim or at least notify of the accident that they can put on file.
I work for auto ins and honestly we get calls about accident that happened a month ago, still covered.

I think you'll be fine then. Because logically the police report will prove when/where the accident was and will validate your claim.

I have to say that I have All State and my DH totaled a 1 month old VERY EXPENSIVE car and the paid out in Full- for more then we even paid for the car (another great All State program- they pay replacement cost)
and my rates went DOWN
they really do have accident forgiveness and I highly recommend them

It used to be 30 days, but I'm not sure if it still is. Check with your insurance policy. I'm sure thats info you can get on your insurance carrier's website.
