How do you store stuffed animals?

DS has a ton of stuffed animals. Some are small bears, some are pillow size. We put two large gates together to make a large play area and they take up the entire length of one side (about 6 feet long). Once he's in there, it's a zoo (haha) with stuffed animals all over and it makes it hard for him to walk in there and play well.

He does like to hug them and lay on them so I don't want to put them all in a storage bin, but there are just too many out right now.

How do you store them? What can I use for DS?

Don't have one yet, but this is on my idea list for when we are ready...



One Step Ahead sells them but you can do a google search for stuffed animal bean bag storage and more will come up.

For now, some are in a basket and some on a reachable shelf in his room.

ETA: Look, they have a pillow now too! I may have to make one!

DS was never too into them. he keeps a few favorites on his bed but the rest are in a nice basket up on his entertainment center/dresser. Basically for show, but they are there if he wants them.

Maybe you could have him pick a few of his favorites to keep there and put the rest up in one of those net hammock things that go in the ceiling corner.

For stuffed animals that DD doesn't use I have a big clear bin that I put them all into and put the bin in her closet. The rest are in a toy box in her playroom, the ones she plays with.

I store them in the garbage can b/c I HATE stuffed animals!!!

DS and DD both have a select few 'special' ones that sit on a shelf in their rooms.

two big wicker baskets that I got for my shower (I am glad they got put to good use - ) I keep in the corner of her her room..they fit a lot!!!

Thankfully we have a very manageable amount. When he was an infant, I kept them in a wicker basket from my shower. Now that he has his favorites, some are in his crib (gasp!) and the rest are on bookshelves, the glider and other pieces of furniture in his room.

We don't have a TON, but I put them in this Ikea storage thing...and some on her bed

I think one of these two might be our best option. This way he can still access them and then we could clean up and they'll be out of the way.






I saw this in the OSA catalog, but it's not nearly big enough for all that he has. We'd need a few of these!

while we still had the pack n play out - we kept them ALL in there...

now - we took out the ones she LOVES & store them in bins under her train table.. she knows they are there and pulls them out a bit...but at least they have a home.

others she loves are on the 'spare chair' we have in the living room..

we have a little tikes toy box. every so often, i go through and donate some he doesnt miss them!

We put them in the bins under his bookshelf so he can access them easily. If it doens't fit in there, it gets donated. Stuffed animals are dust magnets and gets in the way of cleaning so I don't keep more than 2-3 out at a time, the rest goes in the bins for easy access.

It's from One Step Ahead. Kidkraft also makes something similar that's less expensive but smaller. Love the OSA one!

We have the giant toy bags from Pottery Barn filled with stuffed animals.

My SIL used her diaper stacker that came with her bedding set. Of course this only works if you aren't using it for the diapers . I know she had used a different little caddy for the diapers so the stuffed animals were displayed cutely (is that a word??) in the diaper stacker.

In their beds No joke! They sleep with all of them except the really big ones, which are either in the closet or the rocking chair.
