How do you feel about Mommies going out for the night?
Do you think its ok for Mommies to get out for the night every once in a while? Do you make sure you get out some nights? With or without DH? I am single and as much as it kills me to leave dd for the night I would also like to get out a little. I always end up feeling too guilty though.

I think so, not like 5 times a month but maybe 1 or 2 nights a month if that much, you need to re-group and focus on yourself as well. The only nights I get out alone is for class but i guess that counts!

Do I think it's OK? I think it's imperative!!  I go to a cafe with my friend every Monday night...I'm running out the door keys in hand! Get a babysitter and go for it!!!!!

I would absolutely die if I didn't get out...both with and without DH. Having a baby changed my life, but I still like to have fun as an adult a lot and I think DH and I work hard at that balance.

i go out with my mommy friends 2 times a month. it is definately much needed even if it is for 2-3 hours.

ABSOLUTELY!!! As much as I love my baby, I NEED time away just to be a "grown up." I think it's imperative to still do things for yourself and find that balance between being a "mom" and just being "you"!!!

DEFINATELY NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the times my friends and I go out to dinner or to a movie. We just went out to dinner Friday night, I think I'd go insane if I didn't have that!!!!

of course it is okay...it is easier to go out without DH and then he just watched dd, but if we go out together, the IL's keep her overnight. We do this MAYBE once a month

Yes, yes yes. you need it for your mental health. I'm not saying party every night til 4 am, but I definately go out. Wheteher it be to dinner or a bar or even something like the moms dinner my friend and I went to. I always think about DS and DH while I am out, but I will admit I have zero guilt about it.

It is totally necessary. As a working mom my hands are always full, so its good to have a night out with the girls where i can eat without feeding a toddler at the same time

heck yes it's okay! jsut because we've become parents doesn't mean we're known as moms from now on. a break every once in a while keeps one's mind sane. .. and love our child(ren) more! <3

Oh heck yeah. You need to get out sometimes. I think atleast 2-4 times per month. Go out drinking, dancing, to a play whatever makes you happy. Mommies NEED their me time.

Some moms and I have a once monthly LNO (Ladies Night Out).
It's what keeps me sane.
Moms need time for themselves once in a while.
I truly thinks it helps us become better mothers.

Totally agree!! Me and DH go out at least once a month and the grandparents love watching the babies anyway!!
