How do/did you keep your infant from falling asleep during BF?

I want to know how others have done it. My guy will be so hungry, then fall asleep within a few minutes on one breast. Sometimes I try to wake him up and it doesn't happen. Then he's hungry 30 minutes later. Any tips?

Few ideas:
Stroke his head - sort of muss it up
tickle his feet
undress him to his diaper (that's a big one, I think)

I used to undress her, cold washcloth on her head, squeeze her feet... but honestly there were some days where nothing would work...
Give it a little time, he'll be staying awake nursing soon...

Slighly tap your finger under DC's chin. The nurse told me to do that to remind DS what to do.

DS was/is a sleepy baby on the breast. It was a nightmare. Eat for 8 minutes top per breast. He still does. That's why I pump. I tried every tricks... nothing worked or if it does that's for 5 seconds.

All of these worked for me at least some of the time.

Also,
taking a deep breath
pulling away a little

i talk to DD in a normal tone, i also rub her feet. when she starts falling asleep i start to pull my nipple out and that usually gets her sucking again.
