high school reunions
Did you attend or not attend and what was your reason. Do you regret your decision.

I attended my 10 year. It was a little weird, b/c I'm not friends with anyone anymore, but have nothing against them either, and the people who were talking to me most were people who I was NOT friends with in HS. I don't regret going at all, but it was just a strange night.

mine will be in 2 years and i'm not going
my bf is currently "in charge" of planning his with the other class officers for this year, and he's not planning on going either
we went to hs together, but graduated 2 years apart
our reason for not going to either? it was 10 years ago, and we've moved on with life..

my 20 year is this november. I AM attending...
I had a pretty good experience in HS and would love to see all of these people again...
I have a good friend who is on the fence b/c he was tormented in HS... He came "out" afterwards but people called him "gay", etc in HS and he said it might open old wounds of a "him" he wasn't proud of... (someone who was afraid to stand up for himself)
He IS going.. b/c as I told him... why NOT show those who were cruel to him how well he is doing/ happy he is.. and he is pretty great and awesome...
also-- people change...
I ran into some dude that TORMENTED me in middle school at an "impromptu" reunion organized on fb about 6 months ago and he told me how much he loves my artwork...
we're "friends" on fb but he took the time to look at my albums, etc... and gave me wonderful compliments...

I did attend my 10 year but it was lame. mostly b/c they combined my year and '93 b/c 92 couldn't get their sh*t together...
I think 10 years is too soon for a real reunion...

I went to my ten year. It was fun because i got really drunk.
The people who were dicks back then still were at the reunion but whatever.

We didnt have one, or at least not one that was set up by the school... a few people set one up but it was very small and i wasnt able to go...
Next year will be 15... idk if anyone will try to do one for that or not...

I didn't go because high school wasn't one of my better memories in life and I don't really keep in touch with too many HS folks.

I would have gone to my 10 yr but it was my wedding anniversary.
eta: I did go to my college 5 yr and plan to attend the 10 yr when it comes up.

Haven't gone to any.
My 20 year is coming up, but I dont plan on attending.
My school does a 5 year that I didn't go to, because I think,it's just pointless.

totally. since we all "found each other" on fb, my classmates have had like a dozen small little 'reunions' at local bars, etc.
this one will be cool b/c its going to be a lot MORE of us and (mostly) everyone will be staying in the hotel, etc.
I'm excited. I'm helping with the planning and its fixing to be a good time.

I went to my 20.
I was NOT popular, I was NOT cool.
But I bridged a gap because I was in local theater, did all the shows in school and was in choir (all those activitys involved the cool kids).
So when I went back it was very nice speaking to everyone.
I dont regret going and glad I didnt miss it.

I did not attend my 10 year high school reunion because I was getting married the next weekend and had to much to do for my wedding the weekend prior. I was and am completely fine with not attending the reunion. I have caught up with those I wanted to see again via face book.

My 10 year reunion should be next year i have no idea if im going yet...we shall see if the ones i still talk to are going or not
My Dhs was suppose to be last year an nothing was planned so who knows what happened there

same for me, I have no interest in seeing anyone from HS. The people I was friends with in HS I am still good friends now, and the rest I can see on FB if I choose to. Some class advisors created a FB page and has everyone from my graduating class on it, so they can send updates on the reunion, but most just check up on everyone

My high school didnt organize a formal reunion so I never went to one, but would have gone if there was one. I still touch base w many HS buddies on Facebook so the reunion would be more about seeing those people that fell through the cracks (my HS had 489 students in my graduating year!).

you know.. my school had its typical "cliques" but for the most part... we all got along.. of course there were a few douchebags and bagettes... but a lot of the clique "faded" into each other and we all had some mutual respect for each other.
I guess I'm lucky in that way... And NOOOOOO I was NOT part of the "popular" crew. I had my fair share of insecurities and heartbreak... but I have to say-- we all KNEW each other... and people were friends with others who were TOTALLY different...
Also a lot of people are still very good friends (not me.. I left LI for the city right after college.) but they are still a big part of each other's lives ... which I envy a little...
