Help! My Mom just gave my baby formula that had been sitting out for 5 hours!!
Ugh I am so sick about this...
I left out some formula that DD ate from at 12:30. My Mom went into her room (she is visiting us) and gave her the rest of the bottle (my fault for leaving it out really) at 5:00 am. DD seems to be fine, but I am sooo worried. I will call the Dr. immediately if she throws up or has diarrhea...I am praying she is ok....

Alicia- don't panic. Although I'm sure it's not ideal to eat 5 hour olf formula, if it was *bad* Madison probably wouldn't have eaten it. She would have started crying.....

Try not to worry, I'm sure she's fine. The formula companies tell us to toss it in an hour so we'll use more. I've personally used it up to 2 hours and my boys are just fine.

how is she?? im sure she will be just fine, the worst that will happen is she has a lil diahrea and even then you wont have to worry you will know its from the formula.

ITA as well..
I use it if it's out for 2 1/2 hrs/. and I use it 24 hrs after mixed if refrigerated. I actually read this is fine on babycenter or one of the websites I belong to. Don't worry.... she will be ok.

Don't worry, I've definitely done that before. More than one time, too She was always fine. My dr. said that it can sit out for quite some time before it actually starts to break down, and that you can actually leave it out up to 10 hours if a baby hasn't eaten from it at all yet. Not that I recommend that, but just to make you feel better

Been there done that many many times!!! Do you have air conditioning? Its probably not as bad as you think... Between my DH who will just see a bottle and start feeding him, to 2 stepdaughters who do the same thing, Cailen has had many bottles of "old" formula
The few times he has ever puked were from fresh bottles. Don't worry!!!

Thank you so much everyone. DD is fine and hasn't shown any symptoms of being sick. I was SO worried this morning when I had discovered what had happened. Definitely learned my lesson with leaving out bottles of formula!

I recently read somewhere that it can be out for 10 hours. You should be fine.

They can, but *technically* if they have started to eat from the bottle, you are supposed to toss it after an hour.
