has anyone been exposed to fifths disease?

my dr said my bloodwork (from 12 weeks Chat Icon nice to tell me now) came back positive for exposure to fifths disease but if i had it, i would have shown signs by now. she then told me that if i got it and passed it onto the baby that would be very dangerous, but there is no prevention and no cure.... um ok thanks.

i'm not really worried since i didn't have the rash she said fifths patients get, but i am curious if anyone else's dr told them about this?

I was tol dmine came back positive as well

The doc told me I must have been exposed to it at one time or another
He said I just carry the antibiodies for it now and that I was fine. He said it was good that I carried the antibodies

I had this too...but my Dr. told me it was good that I had been previously exposed because I carried the antibodies against it.

Apparently I was too, but never knew about it. It came up in my bloodwork when I was first p/g. I had re-take the bloodwork again and it showed up again. She said I'll be fine. It was just a concern Chat Icon

Wow, i never knew it could be dangerous like that. Im sure you will be fine though. I've had 5th disease about 6 years ago.. and its a rash that you get.. i looked like I had a sunburn.. it didnt itch or anything actually, but the worst was joint pain. The pain it causes to your joints makes you feel like you are 90 and it took about 5-7 days to go away. I wonder if I too, carry signs in my blood of ever having it. Goodluck with it all, like I said, im sure everything will be ok.. its merely a kid rash actually.. and i caught it from working with kids..
