OMG...what an episode!

I haven't watched regularly in a while. Caught a few episodes this season. Had no idea this was happening tonight.


I hate that they make Meredith so cold. Although she did get me crying a few times tonight.
But mostly she's so stone cold.

Crazy episode, in shock about what Shonda did. I think DH is more upset than me about it.

Next week is a 2hr episode and I will probably go through a box of tissues.

I can't stop getting choked up or crying! I have watched every episode since the pilot. I am guessing that is why the showed the pilot last week.

I knew he was going to die..... Just the way he was telling her he knew they were supposed to be together and he wants to be home and then I have to go you have to stay but I have to go

I knew he was leaving the show but I can't believe how they got rid of him. I was ugly crying by the end of the show. Next week I think will be gut wrenching.

I'm so upset right now I feel like it was my dh who died lol and I totally saw it coming last week so I dunno why... Oh wait I do, I have AF lol my guess is that Meredith is gonna be pregnant now.

I honestly thought it was a dream sequence the whole time... that's how much I did Not believe it was actually happening lol. I'm really surprised she'd kill Derek off... I get that she's trying to shock the fans and get people talking but I think it was the wrong move.

I knew there was talk about him leaving the show. I just didn't think she would kill him off.

I only cried when she flashed back at all the times with him. That got me. But the actual unplugging and all? I dunno. I didn't get as emotional as I thought I should be. I think it's because he hasn't Really been on the show at all and he was disconnected in a way. I also feel like the actual part of him getting hit, worked on and then unplugged, all happened in the last 15-20 minutes? They used a whole episode on George and Derek gets the tail end? That's prob why I didn't react as badly as I thought I would.

I do think next week will be a sobfest

I was totally shocked. I thought when the episode started that he was going to die, then when he saved everyone, I was like whew its all ok now, then he gets hit with the truck. I literally yelled. I think his death was rushed and really didn't make me sad until she was unplugging him and started saying Derek, Derek. That was it for me, total tearfest. Next week I'm going to have to watch with a Valium.

I am still very upset about all of this.

I agree that he got a crappy episode and horrible send off. I also was bothered at how cold Meredith truly is. I mean I know that she has her 'mommy' issues but your husband is being taken off life support and you are just standing over his bed not even holding his hand?

I don't know - it just pissed me off. The whole entire last 15 minutes just pissed me off!!!!

Next week will be ugly face crying to extreme.

Same here - I also thought he signed on last year for 2 more years.... Is he going to shoot flashback episode or wait, come back as a ghost?

I haven't watched the show in years but the spoilers have been EVERYWHERE. I'm shocked Shonda actually did this. And I read, as someone else posted, that he recently signed on for 2 more years. So I'm wondering what the heck happened. What did Patrick Dempsey do? lol

And even though I don't watch anymore (the show has gotten too soap-opera like for my tastes), I'm totally planning to Hulu this episode and have a good cry.
