Good resort in Cancun, MX for girls trip!
So my niece has stated that for her graduation gift for next year (HS) she would like to take a trip to Cancun (or Jamaica) with her mom, myself, and 1 of my other sisters. Just the 4 of us to have some drinks and food and sun!
Its been years since I went to Cancun -- maybe people who've been recently can help. My niece will be 18 -- and really she just wants to go someplace all-inclusive that has great drinks & food.
I'm gonna wind up being the one to plan and I figured I'd start looking to get an idea of how much to save--probably going for like 4 days or so.
Any good places you have been to recently I should check out? TIA!

I'm going to Excellence Playa Mujeras in September for our anniversary. They're having a huge sale right now. I got a 2 story roof top terrace room with private pool for $2776 for 6 nights. It's adults only, all inclusive, and just outside of the Cancun hotel strip. It's probably not a big party resort, but the Excellence chain is REALLY nice!

This place is amazing! We went there for our honeymoon. You will have a great time. Its not a big party resort but its not too far from Cancun so you can always go there. Also, I jsut came back from Jamaica (Grand Paladium Resort in Montego Bay). It was beautiful and was all-inclusive.

Yeah the Excellence resorts are definitely popping up a lot in my search. If we did an Excellence it would likely be the one in Cancun. Since my niece is young--she wants to do the club thing and be close to the party & action.
I'm gonna feel sooooooo effing old.

I have to butt in, of course and say I'm not sure Excellence is what you are looking for. I went to the Riviera Maya Excellence (it was just okay -- for the record) and it was more romantic and calm, as I believe all the Excellence resorts are. They cater to couples, I can't imagine they would be crazy fun for a group of girls....

We just stayed at Fiesta Americana Grande Coral Beach in Cancun. It was amazing and not very expensive.

I definitely have the same impression of Excellence Resorts. I would look into something a little different for a girls weekend, but I don't have any good suggestions.
Oh wait, I know there's a chain called... Moon? Like Moon Palace? Or Sun? Yeah, I'm a lot of help, right?

I'm staying at the Riu Cancun when i go in June. I would check it out. Its highy recommended by a ton of people I have spoken to.

We stayed at Cancun Palace for our honeymoon and had a blast. There were a lot of young people there. They have other resorts such as Moon and and Sun however, I felt that Moon Palace catered to an older crowd and it was also further away from the bustle of Cancun. I did not visit Sun. If you stay at one Palace resort you can use the facilities at all of them.
