Going to Jericho Terrace tonight. Dress question
DH has a work function at Jericho Terrace tonight (that i was just informed of last night  )
All I know is he has to wear a suit and I have to wear a cocktail dress. This is all I have on such short notice. Is this ok??? My mom said "yes" but she will just tell me what I want to hear.

I think your dress is fine for JT, but I think it would depend on the event.
If it's an awards ceremony, I think I would wear something a little less dressy like a wrap dress or skirt and fancier cardigan set.
ETA: It's a really pretty dress!

Perfect.. throw a black cardigan on.. when you get there, if everyone is super dressy, take the cardigan off. If it's more casual... button a few buttons in the middle of the cardigan. Wear your hair down and simple... I'd go for a basic black pump

See thats what I was thinking but Dh's boss specifically said "cocktail dress"
I really hope I am not the only dork wearing a dressy dress

Ok...I can do that!! I have plain black pumps. Will that look dressy enough for the dress? Uhh...I am so bad at this

From the picture I think so... Doesn't have to be a satin shoe or a sandal. Do you have a black peep toe? A patent leather peep toe would go really well... it could be dressy or more casual...

Ooo...yea, a peep toe would be really good. I don't have any but I can try and get a pair on my way home. Damn! I gotta try to get out of work early today.

I agree with the sweater suggestion, and a plain pump. You don't even have to go searching for a peep toe.

Thanks again girls! Last night went great!! I did end up getting a peep toe that went PERFECTLY with the dress. I toped it off with a simple black cardigan and was all set! I got a lot of compliments! You girls rock!!

BTW...it looks BEAUTIFUL all decorated for the fall.
