Going for #3 question/poll. Did you have two of the same sex when trying for a third?

I'm not ready to go for #3 yet but I'm pretty sure I would like a third eventually. DH says he could be fine being done since we have a boy and a girl but he still leaves the door open.

I've have many people look at me like I'm nuts when I say I have a girl and boy and still would like one more. I'm just curious if this is that out of the norm (and if I actually am crazy Chat Icon ). I've always wanted three, regardless of the genders.

I've had a few people who do have 3 tell me to stop at two, which makes me sad. My aunt has twin girls followed by another girl (they're all teenagers now) and she told me that she wished she had stopped at two. Hearing these things makes me nervous to add another!

Anyone have 3 and feel it's not so bad?

Re: Going for #3 question/poll. Did you have two of the same sex when trying for a third?

I had two girls and went for #3--we weren't trying for a boy; just trying for another baby. In the end, we did have a boy.

It's funny, I always wanted 3 but my DH wanted 2; when I was pregnant (and team Chat Icon ) with my 2nd I told DH I'd be more likely to stop at 2 if it were another girl--I guess I just liked the idea of sisters. Anyway, I knew in my heart I always wanted a bigger family, so remaining a family of 4 was never really an option for me.

Oh, and I don't think you should trouble yourself with what anyone else thinks about the matter--they won't be raising your kids. But yes, like anything, having 3 kids has its ups and downs Chat Icon

I have two of the same and honestly it is what is KEEPING me from going for a #3, lol. I think in your case it is great because either your DS gets a brother, or your DD gets a sister Chat Icon

I have two crazy boys already and I'm just not sure I can handle 3! Chat Icon

Re: Going for #3 question/poll. Did you have two of the same sex when trying for a third?

We have two boys and I'm pregnant with number #3 now.
I didn't feel done and have to be honest I wanted to try for a girl. I think if I would of had a boy and a girl I might of not went for #3 but not sure about that. I was waiting after #2 to feel that done feeling and I just didn't.
Now that I'm PG, I have " What was I thinking!!! Running through my head. I'm so scared to have a third now. I keep hearing not so great stories about having number three, it's not helping my anxiety. I need to stop reading!! Haha

I don't think it unusual to want a third when you have one of each. Your desire is for another baby, boy or girl.

I had 2 girls when I found out I was pg with #3.

Now I have 3 girls Chat Icon Chat Icon We were team green and I would've been happy either way.

The ONLY reason I'm sad is because I will probably never get to experience being the mommy of a boy. For that reason, I think that families who have 1 of each are so lucky!

Even if my 1st 2 had been a boy and a girl- I still would have wanted a 3rd.

Re: Going for #3 question/poll. Did you have two of the same sex when trying for a third?

I remember talking when we were engaged and saying I wanted three no matter what. DH agreed..and 3 boys are what we had! Chat Icon

It never mattered to me..3 boys, 3 girls, a mix etc...

And I think having 3 is pretty easy, not much different than 2. Loving every minute!! I would go for a fourth if I weren't starting a nursing career!!!

I feel lucky that I have one of each sex...

But I'm not "aiming" for anything with a third.

A child is a child.

I feel like having 3 is a luxury.

Re: Going for #3 question/poll. Did you have two of the same sex when trying for a third?

I have 4 girls. I was very young when I had my first one with my ex. 12 years later I had another girl with my husband. Since it was my husband first child, I knew we would try again hoping for a boy. We welcomed another girl and we were thrilled, didn't even think about wanting a boy. At that point we wanted to have another one but we knew finacially it was going to be too hard on us so we decided to stop there. 3 years later I get pregnant again while being on birth control, it was a very tough pregnancy for me because I thought my life was perfect with 3 girls and I didn't know how I could handle another child while keeping a full-time job. Fourth came and we welcomed another girl and I couldn't be happier. She is perfect and I couldn't imagine life without her and I honestly can't say, if I could go back I would have had only 2 or 3. She completes our family and brings so much joy to our lives. Financially it has worked great for us. To me the hardest part is not having the break I use to have. Its easier for someone to take 1-2 kids for the day but to take 3 is insanely hard. My DH and I were used to having weekends to ourselves but now we can't. We're lucky if we get a few hours. That's the only part that sucks, oh yeah and also getting them all ready. If we have a party or event on a schedule day, I plan a day ahead so I can be on time. My mornings also suck because I have to get all of them ready and drop them off at 3 different locations all by myself since my husband leaves the house really early.
My oldest one is 18 so she has her own life nowadays...but thats another headache I have to deal with.
Is it hard, of course, but we have more good days than bad. And I love to see how they all love each other and can't be away from each other. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
So if you want another one, go for it. Don't let anyone guide you in any direction. People think I'm crazy but at the same time, they love how united our family is.

We have 2 girls and we want a 3rd. Everyone asks us " are you going to go for a boy". We just want another baby whatever we have we're going to love! I'd love another girl or love to experience having a boy. Having a third has nothing to do with gender for us.

We had a girl and a boy and still tried for a third.

Sure things are crazy with 3, and anytime I am with just 2 of them I can't believe how much easier it is, however never in a million years could I imagine a life without one of my kids. They are each amazing little people.

I call our third our grand finale. She really is something elseChat Icon

We were very happy to have a boy and girl. We weren't trying for a third but we weren't not trying. I am now 7 weeks pregnant, sick as a dog and in a sense, wishing I could turn back time. I know that as soon as I see this little blessing, I will be totally in love and feel like our family is complete but now that it is so real, I can't help but to think how much more difficult life gets with 3! On the other hand, if we never had a third, I would probably regret it for the rest of my life! Best of luck to you whichever route you decide to take!

My first two are a boy and a girl. Everybody would say that since we have one of each, we are done. We weren't trying for # 3 but we weren't being careful either. Baby #3 is a girl. Things are definently crazy with 3 but all of our lives would not be the same without her Chat Icon

Re: Going for #3 question/poll. Did you have two of the same sex when trying for a third?

I have three. Our first two were a girl and boy. I always wanted three and had to work hard to convince my dh to go for it. He gave in and now I have another little boy. I'm not going to lie. Having 3 for us is hard....a lot harder than I thought it would be. It could also be that I work full time and my 5 yr old is in kindergarten and my 3 year old is immersed in the terrifying threes..... The baby is 8 months and while it is very very hard I couldn't imagine not having him. He is such a joy and his brother and sister love him to death. If I could go back in time knowing how hard it is I'd still do it again. Chat Icon

We have 2 boys now. We always planned on having 3. We were Team Green both times. When I was pregnant with DS2, I definitely didn't feel done. Of course, I'd love a girl, but that had nothing to do with our decision to have 3.

I didn't make a decision to have a 3rd it kind of just happened.
That being said I had boy/girl twins and everyone would say oh good now you're done Chat Icon I never understood it...that would have no bearing on wether I would go for a 3rd.
I had another boy...and as CRAZY as our life can be I couldn't imagine life without him.

I would love to have three kids but not sure we can afford it. I'm currently pregnant with #2. We have a daughter and are Chat Icon
I think of its a boy I would be inclined to have a third but if its a girl I may be done. It sounds crazy but the thought of three teenage girls worries me lol
But at the same time I would love to have a son

I don't have 3... or even 2, I haven't been blessed yet...
but I am one of 3. I have a brother and a sister, and I remember my mom telling me that IF my sister had been a boy, she would have stopped at 2 - bc there was NO way she was chancing 3 boysChat Icon
but since she had one of each, she wanted a 3rd and would have been happy with whatever she gotChat Icon

I have 2 girls and we will hopefully try for the boy next year. Of course it could be a girl and we would be happy with three healthy babies, but we would love to have a boy.

same here. My DH would love a girl. I personally don't care if it's a girl or boy, I just have no interest in having another baby.

Going for #3 question/poll. Did you have two of the same sex when trying for a third?

I have no regrets but my 3rd has taken a toll. Had no clue it would be this tough. Ihave a son (12) from my first relationship, daughter (6) with my SO & i wanted to give her a sister (my son has other sibs from his Dad) and I wanted a bigger family. I was 40 when I had my baby (7m) and its def different from what I'd thought. Also I was laid off from my FT job so the dynamic is different from when I had my other kids.
I love my life & wouldn't change it. For me A LOT changed when my 3rd came along.
