girls who recently delivered at Winthrop - question about visiting

I'm going in for my csection on Friday. I was curious about the rules for visitors. When my sister delivered there in '08, they said visiting hours were between 6-8 but the whole family came in and out all day. I used to just walk in around 11 am to help my sister and no one said anything. This was all before swine flu - I'm wondering what the policy is now about visiiting (reg. visitors vs. family)

I had a private room and we were able to sometimes sneak people in and sometimes we weren't. The best trick is to have people come before the security guard arrives.

I delivered there in January. Visiting hours were 1-8, and they say they only allow 2 visitors at a time, but I found they rarely enforced that. I gave birth late on Thursday night, and went home Saturday, so Friday was when I had all the visitors. There were people in and out all day pretty much, and at times there were like 5 or 6 people in the room. Later at night, like in the last hour or so, there was a security guard at the door and he was only letting 2 in at a time. Dads can come (I think) between 10 and 10. HTH! Good luck!!

I delivered there in March. Visiting hours were 1-8 with a 2 person limit however no one enforced this until the security guard came (around 4-5pm). DH's were allowed to be there from 10-10, but my DH would sometimes stay until almost 11 without a problem.

I delivered in Aug 2009, visiting hours were 1-8. They said they only allow 2 visitors at a time for an hour each. I had my parents and in-laws with me for almost 2 days straight, in addition to other visitors. Nobody said anything to us. I felt terrible for my roommates.
