Gimme a break!!! Another freakin' home party?!?
I have a "friend" (and I use that term lightly at this point) who has one of those "Buy some crap at my house parties" LITERALLY every six weeks. I haven't been invited to her home for a non consumer GTG in YEARS! (Didn't get invited to her son's 1st birthday nor her block party). She couldn't be bothered checking on how I was when I went in for surgery but she did remember to add me to her Pampered Chef party list about two weeks afterwards!! (At that point, WTH was I going to do with Pampered Chef stuff?!??). Kind of like last month when she discovered I was getting divorced and she sent me her "Exotic Toy Party" invite!! Now I have yet ANOTHER invite to her house to decline - this time, jewelry! I don't mind attending these parties once in awhile (I just went to one at Deb's house ), yet the constant shakedown is too much. Would I be totally justified in telling her to shove her invites since she can't be my friend unless I'm willing to buy crap at her house?!?

I cant believe she doesnt invite you to any of her regular celebrations. That's just rude in my opinion. I think you have every right to tell her to cram it.

If I need something I'm going to go buy it- not wait for you to have some Party at your house.
It just aggrevates me!

normally i would jsut go and not buy anything... BUT in this situation, this girl has NOT been a friend to you for awhile now... she only calls you when she has stuff to sell... i would NO PROBLEM telling her to get lost

ITA. I have been to a couple of these types of parties with various friends & have no problem with them... I actually enjoyed a recent PC & Wildtree herbs party, but if this is the ONLY time she wants you around then who needs her!

That's rude!
She likes inviting you to these parties because when your buy something she gets extra points and hostess gifts for it. The more people she invites the more gifts for her.....
