i'm a speech therapist at an elementary school! i LOVE it! i work with kids who have lisps, problems with making the "R" sound, etc. BUT i also work with special ed kids who need help on their overall language/communication skills (reading comprehension,sentence structure, etc). its really rewarding!
it's because of angels like you that I don't lissssssssssssp my way through adulthood.
I hope that you give stickers out for every successful lisp exercise completed, that was the best part of speech class!

In school for my Bachelor's at Empire State College. I'm majoring in Psychology with a minor in Health & Nutrition. Then, I'll go for my Master's at Queens College in Family and Consumer Science Education (Home & Careers). Then, I will teach Home & Careers at the middle or high school level - depending where I get hired.
In the mean time, I work at a middle school. I recently took a second job in retail for extra cash! I really enjoy working at the school - with the kids and getting my foot in the door for my future career. I also, to my surprise, really took a liking to the second retail job. At first, it was just for extra money but I love everyone there! I have so much fun at both jobs - I'm really lucky to be that happy where I am until I'm done with school.

haha! thanks! great to hear that i'm not just imagining that i'm benefitting the kids! LOL
and of course i give stickers!! even the older kids go nuts for them! we also do a lot of games ( say some words, take your turn) AND even sometimes do exercises that involve food!  its great!

I work for a large chemical company in research & development. I am a chemist in the formulations lab and I create personal care products (such as creams, lotions, cleansers, basically anything... but mostly anti-aging skincare) for some well known cosmetics companies. I also develop formulas to support other departments in my company. (such as for testing active ingredients compatiblity or for clinical testing.) I am involved in the process from concept through first production. I have travelled as far a Switzerland for pilot/production batches. People always like hearing about what I do and find it very interesting.
I have my BS in Biochemistry and I am working on my MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences (expected to graduate the end of this year).
I am also a mom to a 7 month old boy.

I am a school psychologist at a special education preschool. I work with children with disruptive behaviors, autism/PDD, and general social-emotional delays.
I am technically still a grad student as well, b/c I have yet to finish my dissertation for my doctorate.

I was in product development and marketing
but now I do mortgage modifications- sales and bank negotiations
I love it- it's a crazy industry- I will stay in the real estate industry now- but I want to move to the "happy" side when the market changes
