Genetic Testing
We are not TTC just yet, but would like to get genetic testing done before we start trying.
Has anyone gotten it done before they started trying, and if so - do you do it through your gyno?

Your gyno will most likely refer you to a genetic counselor.

I did it before I got pregnant. They can test you for more things that way. My doctor (with NYU) referred me to the genetic counselor at NYU hospital. It was one interview and then they drew a lot of blood. But it was a big relief to know that I am not a carrier of anything.

I am not TTC yet...but plan to this summer. At my annual exam this month I asked my ob/gyn and she said I could do it that day. I just got the results back. Basically they just take a bunch of vials of blood. It takes about 10 days-2 weeks for results.
