Garage door won't open

I think it's off the track. The only other way in is through a side door that is locked and I have no idea where the key is.

I know I probably need a door company to help me but I don't know what to do first. break the lock on the side door and see if I can somehow get it back on the track or just call a door company.

I can only imagine how much this will cost.

is there a lock on the front of the garage door? you can unloack that and pull on it and it will manually open the door. You might have to get under it and put some umpf into it, but it's another option.

We have the ability to unplug our motor from the door if the power goes out or if there is an issue with the door. Try that route before calling people in.

My garage door opener wasn't working properly so I had the guy come. He said that their is a setting on the actual motor on top and it needs to be all the way to one side. Sometimes if it moves to the other side the door won't open. Maybe have your DH take a look at that before you have to pay $$$.

It's manual..no opener and today voila, it opened! I think something was frozen..maybe the lock and it was in the wrong position.

Who knows..I'm just glad that it's working.

We had to re-set ours to get it to work properly. I downloaded the instruction manual from the internet to do this. Seems to be fine now.
