friend had her tonsils out: what can i do for her?
my friend had her tonsils out 2 weeks ago at 29 years old. she hasn't been able to eat pretty much anything for the passed 2 weeks. she actually ended up in the hospital this past weekend for dehydration and everything.
i'm just looking for ideas of something to do for her... obviously cooking her a meal isn't gonna work, and flowers die so quickly. her parents are retired so they've been helping her out while her DH is at work and stuff..... anybody been through it and have good ideas you might have liked??

I love to give a big package of fun magazines to someone recouperating from illness/surgery. Ones that match their interest (travel, cooking) but then also raunchy tabloid ones... things to help pass the time.

we had a co-worker had his tonsils out at the agte of 33, so we sent him a gift basket of ice pops and ice cream.

Bring her magazines like PP posted, some ice cream and fixings, a movie (maybe her fav. one if she doesnt have).

I like the movie/tv show idea...maybe spend an afternoon or evening with her. She could be bored & tired of staying at home.

ITA w/ a few of the posters. If I lived close enough to visit her I would call her up ahead of time and see if she has ice cream in the house (I have a feeling this is a common thing to get for someone so her freezer could be stocked). If not, I would show up with some ice cream/pops and movies as well as some magazines for later.
