toss the remaining milk/formula

wash the bottle.

we actually only have 2 that we rotate. no need for any more since he's only drinking one at a time.

As you can see everyone does their own thing. As others have said the "rule" is to throw out any unusedc formula once the bottle has been drunk from. Personally-I did that until my kids were about 6-7 mponths then I relaxed a bit. I always used a new bottle. I had 14 bottles for twins. My bottles went through the dishwasher every night

1. I agree with DRMom, when DS was tiny, I would have tossed the formula, but as he got older, I would keep it.

2. We had a ton of bottles, so once he finished one, it went into the dishwasher and we used another for the next feeding.

I would toss that formula and I would use a new bottle for the next feeding. Too afraid of bacteria on the nipple

OK..let me set the scenario:

You fill a bottle for a feeding to 5 oz. DC drinks 3 of those, leaving 2 oz left in the bottle..and falls asleep for two hours.

1.) What do you do with the remaining 2 oz?

throw it out

2.) How do you clean bottles if you fed at 10:00 am, and will feed again at 1pm? Do you just rinse the bottle? or..Do you use a completely new bottle?

i use a new bottle. im sterilize every bottle after every use - im wierd like that Chat Icon

I personally used a clean bottle every time, never just rinsed and reused. I also threw out the formula if it wasn't finished because I was told it was bad to reuse it.

When my kids were on formula never kept a bottle longer then an hr. Would just throw the rest away. As for washing bottles I washed them at night and had enough bottle to use through out the following day.

1. Throw out the 2 oz. Because of bacteria you are not supposed to use any formula left out after an hour.

2. I use a clean bottle for each feeding.
