For everyone who asked how they can help Gerty and family...UPDATE AT TOP OF POST
UPDATE:
We spoke today. At the moment she requests only privacy and time.
She appreciates all of the generous offers and desire to help, but can't think about anything right now. When she is ready, she will let us know how we can help.
SO thank you for all of the FMs, if I didn't get back to you I apologize....it is nice to see such overwhelming support.
I was planning to post that I will be taking up donations for them, from whomever would like to participate. So many people have asked what they can do and this is what I have come up with.
I thought to present to them all in one, to decide what to do with it - help defray the funeral expenses, make a donation in Rogan's name, put a reflecting pool in their yard... whatever they see fit. I will post about it tomorrow if I get the go-ahead from LIF and Gerty and Dan.
The idea is to consolidate all into one donation to them, and to save them the trouble of collecting and keeping track of it all.

Thank you!!!!!!  I know that we will all donate what we can but if there can be a suggested range, that would help some of us who just don't know what is appropriate.

I feel so horrible for her. I would be honored to help out in anyway. Please keep us posted on how you would like to collect donations. thank you for doing this. I will keep Gerty and her family in my prayers. Im sorry i cant change my avatar message to reflect that.

I think that's a great idea, and along the same lines of the donations we made to DebG, I think it would be easier if we could somehow set this up through paypal, particularly for the ladies who aren't on LI...
