First Fathers Day...
anyone go a bit overboard? Not that I spent that much but Dh has 4 presents to open. I just kept thinking of new cute things.
1. willow tree "new dad" figurine
2. New sneakers
3. A "daddy" themed cardboard book
4. A framed picture of DS wrapped up in a Yankee blanket, in sepia tone.
What did you do?

I did too. I got him a canvas print of his favorite photo of him and DS, a new grill and a bunch of little things for it, and I took a picture of him holding DS hands walking on the beach, so I'm using that picture with a cute poem and printing it for him. And we of course are going out for lunch  I'm excited and he deserves it!

No gifts here, I'm just taking him for lunch at a newly opened Beer Garden. He's such a beer hound that this would be the perfect gift.

I wrote him a poem from DD. I bought him 2 dozen oysters. He loves them! I also bought him some things from Pampered Chef.

Last year I got him the Wii system and some games for his first Father's day. I also got him a mug with the first photo he ever took with DD, which was him holding her in the OR... he was in scrubs and she was just looking up at him. It was so precious I wanted something sentimental like that.
This year, I have nothing  I'll try to find a nice pic to print of the 2 of them and maybe get him a frame. I can't spend any money right now and I can't leave the house b/c DD's been sick, in fact we cancelled our annual FD BBQ at our house.

I coordinated with a wife of one his friends, and we both got them a round of golf, cart rental and lunch afterwards.
From DS, he is getting a mug with a collage of the two of them on it.
From my mom, he is getting a fun ESPN book and a picutre fram that I can record the baby's voice on so he can bring to work.
- In case you didn't know, blowing rasberries and goo-goo-ga means, I LOVE YOU.

Didn't go crazy, but I'm not working now so we don't have the cash for that. I got him a framed picture of him holding DS. DS is wearing DH's favorite onesie (it's the Ramones). DH loves it. And we're going to brunch, and then DH wants to be able to watch the US Open "in peace" in the afternoon. I'll see what I can do.

I have a shadow box type of picture frame. One side has a 5X7 pic of him and our DD from Memorial Day weekend and the other side is a clay imprint of her little foot.  I also made him a Happy 1st Father's Day DVD using Microsoft Movie Maker. I went through all of our pics from when I was pregnant, my shower, Emerson being born up until now and I created a beautiful photo montage set to music. It's about 15 min. long and it came out great! He's going to love it. I can't wait for him to see it!!!
