first doctor's appt.?
What do they normally do at this appt. Mine is at the end of the month  I can't wait to go!

for mine, they took urine, did some blood work and did a sono. I was 6w6d

For mine they took urine and blood.
I had to go back two weeks later for a sonogram.
I think I was about 8 weeks.

I just had mine yesterday! The doctor asked a bunch of questions about your medical history, last AF, any miscarriages, prior pregnancies. She also gave an exam to determine if my body is reacting properly to the pregnancy - ie. check for swollen breasts, thickening of the uterine lining and gave a pap smear.
They also:
- took your blood & urine sample
- took your pressure level
- measured your weight and height
- asked if you want HIV test and Cystic Fibrosis test (I think)
At the end I was given some vitamins and asked me to come back in a week (my 8th) for the ultrasound. She didn't want to give one sooner in case we don't hear the heartbeat and panic.

I believe these are mandatory...at least the HIV one is.

My first appointment was more of an annual exam. I had a pap and I was sent for bloodwork.
