first bloodwork results...

Hey Ladies,

I got the results of my first bloodwork last night. The doctor said the numbers were ok, but I wanted to run them by you since you ladies are so well informed - I don't know what I'd be doing without you!

Beta - about 92,800
Progesterone - 18

I was about 6 - 6 1/2 weeks at the time the bloodwork was done. Do these numbers look good to you? TIA!

Re: first bloodwork results...

I know my doc wanted to see my progesterone above 20.

I am not sure what the beta's are suposed to be at that stage...bc I had my blood drawn when I was 4-5 weeks along...

Re: first bloodwork results...

the beta alone doesn't really mean anything - it just has to double every 48-72 hours.

are they sending you for more bloodwork? the prog number does seem a little low.

Progesterone is good-watch it though--it should NOT go below 15. Are you sure the beta # is correct? Here is a linbk to beta avg beta numbers in early pregnancy.

Thank you for that Beta Base link. I think the beta looked OK for now, and they I'll get the results from the second set of bloodwork tomorrow. So hopefully the beta will be a lot more, right?

I thought the doctor said that a progesterone of 10 or above was ok Chat Icon

I would maybe ask about progesterone supplements. My dr. was ready to put me on them if my progesterone was below 20. It can't hurt to be on them.

That's what I was going to ask - the beta seems very high. Maybe you're further along than you calculated?

Your progesterone could be a little better, but it's good. I agree that I would keep any eye on it.

10 is WAY too low in my opinion. I would like to see my own at 20 or above but 15 is satisfactory--no way it should go b elow that. Did you get an ultrasound. FYI beta is your hcg number NOT progesterone--the link I sent you

My first progesterone level was 17. They said it was good but then it dropped to 13. They put me on progesterone. My dr. never said anything about it being above 20, he just didn't want it to drop. Ask for suppositories.
