eating Peanut butter while BF
are you allowed to have PB when you are BF? I can't remember..

There are recent studies/articles and it was just on the news that if there are any nut allergies, or either family has a history of asthma that avoiding nuts during late pg and breastfeeding may help prevent peanut allergies/asthma.
I am pg and avoiding them overall and def would not eat them during 3rd trimester or breast feeding b/c my DH has asthma/allergies and I don't want to chance it.
There is a debate on this but for me, better safe than sorry in my case.

My ped, who is also a lactation consultant, said that as long as there isn't a history of food allergies, it was fine.

DD had a milk protein reaction when she was first born so her ped told me in addition to cutting out dairy to not have peanuts.

PB is a daily staple for me...BF for 18 months all day long and now Josh has a peanut allergy which I don't have.
all these allergies
next time around...
no dairy in my 3rd trimester(to avoid protein allergy)
no PB

Wow. How upsetting. 
So if you got pg again, would you not touch peanuts even during your whole pg? Does anyone else in your family have asthma or nut allergies?
And no dairy? Can you tell me the reasoning for this? I hadn't heard of that but I would like to know more.
Also, did you eat PB everyday while BF, or pg? Or here and there? Sorry for so many ?, based on my DH's asthma, I want to do the best thing possible.

we are pretty sure my kid has asthma as well.
I have tons of food allergies, but no asthma.
I lived on tums throughout my 3rd trimester, as well as ovaltine and skim milk...the heartburn was terrible.
so, at 3 weeks old, he had a milk/soy protein allergy. His intestines weren't developed enough to break down the protein.
from my research and the pita it was for the year of no milk or soy for either of us, my 3rd trimester next time, I am not touching dairy.
after he was hospitalized in june for lack of oxygen and given nebulizer treatments, they are treating him like an asthma patient
he has had PB before...but he went into the hospital the same week I started giving him cow's milk, causing them to do allergy testing.
he's no longer allergic to milk
is allergic to wheat and PB, but not allergic to walnuts.
I will avoid PB as well next time around.
I probably had PB 3 times a week.
