Dry scalp... What shampoo?

My almost 4 yr old seems to have a dry scalp. I use the kid's Suave shampoo, but maybe it's drying his scalp out?Chat Icon
Not sure, but he does have sensitive skin and eczema so who knows.
Any suggestions on another shampoo for him?

Thanks!

Do you shampoo his hair every day? Maybe try only every other day. I believe all shampoos wash away the scalp oils which makes it feel clean, but dries it out.

Re: Dry scalp... What shampoo?

Olive oil or Coconut oil worked great for us with my son. We would put him in the bath, wet his hair, put the oil in and massage it, leave it in for a few minutes then use a comb to try and comb out the dry scalp pieces, then we would shampoo (sometimes we needed to shampoo and rinse twice to get the oil completely out). We had to do it once a week for about 3 weeks...the dry scalp hasnt been back since!

What you need is sulfate free shampoos. Those won't dry out his hair and frizz it out as much as regular shampoos do. Look online for Pro Naturals moroccan argan oil shampoo and conditioner. Those dont have any chemicals that can irritate the scalp. The argan oil really does the trick. You can look for it online.
