Dropping 2nd nap? What age & was am or pm?

My 15mo I think it starting to drop a nap.
She's always been a GREAT sleeper, but lately she plays for so long before sleeping, or doesn't nap at all.

So I thought to drop a nap, but she seems so tired if I wait until 12:30 for a nap, so I was curious did you LO drop their morning or afternoon one?

Charlie only napped once a day since she was 4 months old, but it was a long nap - up to 3 hours!

At about a year, she stopped napping. Now at around 20 months, she is napping again (thank god!) but we really need to enforce it or she'll skip it!

DS dropped his 2nd nap around 15 months. Worked out b/c around that time he moved up from the infant room to the waddler room at daycare. They only take 1 nap there so they transitioned him.
Now at 2 1/2 he still has an hour and a half to two hour nap everyday from 12:30 - 2 (give or take)

My son dropped a nap around 18 months-old. He actually would have continued with 2 naps, but they were getting shorter, he wasn't tired when it was bedtime, and he was getting up too early.

He used to nap at 10:00 and then 3:00. When he went to 1 nap, we started at noon and now he goes down closer to 1:00 PM.

My twins dropped their second nap very early on. I would say at about 6 months they stopped taking their late afternoon nap and now they take a 2 hour nap from about 1-3.

DD dropped her PM nap first prob around 10 mos or so. Her AM nap became longer and longer so there was no time for her to take a PM nap.
I then at around 14-15 mos started making her AM nap later and later until it became a PM nap.
It was a bit of a transition period for us though.

Right around 1 year old.

He used to nap at like 10 and maybe 2. Then he would take 1 nap around 11:30-1:30.

Now (almost 2) he naps from usually 12:30-3.

Re: Dropping 2nd nap? What age & was am or pm?

DS dropped his second nap at 12 months. It was during the summer time. I was letting him sleep in longer since I didn't have to be up to take older DS to school.

Baby DS would get up later so his nap became later and there would be no time for another nap.

He is 17 months now takes 1 nap a day.
He's up at 7:30am down at 11:30am sleeps till about 2 and then down again at 8pm for the whole night.

For the past 2 days though hes been taking 1 hour naps and its killing ME.Chat Icon

Thank you for the replies!
I'm at a loss, because I have DD1 who has preschool 3x/wk, so I need to pick her up at 12....so I need a nap that works!

DS dropped his afternoon nap around 15 months. For awhile, he just did an am nap but, it slowly transitioned to a mid-day nap.

My neighbor has the same issue as you with pre-school and she puts her kids down around 10:30 for a nap before 1pm pre-school.
