Driving Distance 4-5 day Trip ideas needed
DH and I are going to do a little baby-moon labor day weekend and we are at a loss as to where to go. DH does not want to risk flying (though I am sure it would be fine, he's just not comfortable with it), so we are limited to driving distance (up to 8 hrs away is fine). It's hurricane season at that point, so we're not thrilled with the idea of going to the Carolina's. We don't really want a real family feel place, we want something more romantic. Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated!

Besides the amusement park, there is a lot out there for couples. The Hershey Hotel Spa has chocolate-based spa treatments.

Rent a cottage on VRBO somewhere upstate NY, CT, etc. and hide out...just google the town and make sure there's some cute little restaurants and stuff to go to at night if you want.

Crystal springs resort and spa -and it is on groupon right now. Romantic and really nice.

What is VRBO?
It's a website that has vacation rental houses. Also Homeaway.com

I know a lot of people who drive to Maine for romantic getaways. I'm not sure of the exact town, but I've only heard great things. They always stay in cute bed and breakfasts and say there are cute fishing towns with nice downtown areas - great restaurants and little shops.

This. We stayed on Goose Rocks beach and it was lovely! There is also a b&b called "the Tides" that is amazingly peaceful and romantic!

DH and I have done Newport, RI. It was a great mini-vacation without the kids. I bet the weather will be great around Labor Day weekend. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency on Goat Island.
We just got back from The Poconos on Friday. It was a family vacation, but I could totally see the two of us going for a long weekend. If you want to rent a house or condo, I definitely recommend using homeaway.com, we've used it a few times and always had good experiences.
