Dr. appointment...being sent to be induced!!! Now I am scared! HELP!
Well, I went for my usual NST and biophysical sono and internal. I am 41 weeks and 5 days, (she finally said that yes, we should have stuck with april 14th) the baby weighs 9lbs7oz as of today and his amniotic fluid is low....so my doc said this boy needs to come out! She wants me to go to the hospital tonight around 8pm to start induction  I am not happy about this...I know that inductions can take a long time, and they increase the chance of C-section, which is very much a possibility as of now because of the weight of the baby and how low the amniotic fluid is. I feel like crying has anyone had a similar situation....anyone have an induction story you care to share. I wish i knew what to expect. My doc said dont expect the baby till wed or thurs! YIKES! that 3 days in L&D.... HELP

I was induced TWICE and had a amazing experience with both!  I pray that you will too. Try not to be scared. I know that the unknown is scary in itself, but just think about that beautiful angel waiting for you!
BTW for my induction with DC#1, it lasted about 28 hours, but that was only because not all my water bags had been broken. (I slept alot of that time)
With DC#2, labor from the moment the iv went into my arm to when I had her was a total of 4 hours of labor. I pushed her out in no time.

first of all try and relax - i know, easier said than done!
the main thing is for you to have a healthy, happy baby boy. nothing else is important. the doctor and nurses will take great care of you.
the dr. most likely told you wed or thurs because they have to insert cervadil to get your cervix dilated (if it isn't already). each one can be inserted in for up to 12 hours i think, and sometimes they choose to insert cervadil more than one time.
the next step is pitocin which will "kick-start" your contractions, but if your cervix isn't dilated, nothing productive will happen.
plus, you aren't going in until 8pm tonight and you will need to be admitted and put into a room and all that, so they might not even get started until after midnight - which is technically tuesday
i can't wait to hear that you had your gorgeous baby boy - lots of luck!!
ETA: also, growth sonos can be waaaaay off - you might end up having a 7 or 8 lb baby!

Im being induces on Sunday...and although Im ready for my baby to be here I really wish I would go into labor on my own. Im scared of the long induction process and also the increase of a c-section.
I hope you have a wonderful and positive experience. I'llbe looking forward to reading your birth story to see how it went.

I had a FABULOUS induction. My DD flew out in 5 pushes and I felt nothing. You will be great. Go in and have total faith in yourself and your doctors and you will do perfect. Good Luck

I don't know what I would do with you ladies!!! Thank you so much for the reassurance, because I really need it I feel much better hearing that not all inductions are LONG and horrible! Because that is all i keep hearing from my co worker and from one of my friends... I hope and pray it will just be short and to the point! my baby boy being here healthy and perfect!!!

My coworker was due on 4/23. On Tuesday, 4/8, she went for her usual appointment. I don't know about her amniotic fluid, but I do know that they were very concerned about the size of the baby - her OB said it was measuring over 8 lbs at 38 weeks. They were going to induce her the following weekend. Well, lo and behold, the dr called her that afternoon at work and told her they didn't want to wait - they wanted to come to the hospital that night to be induced!! 
She was freaking out a little!!
So, my coworker went in to be induced at I think 7pm on 4/8. Her son was born - naturally - at 1pm on 4/9.
And after all that the baby weighed something like 7lbs9oz!
So, not quite the same situation as you, but similar! It was a pretty quick labor for an induction, and she ended up not needing a c-section.

My friend had to be induced because of pre eclampsia and I think she was only in labor for 18 hours

everyone is different! 2 of my friends were induced , one needed a c section, one didnt and had a great delivery

I was induced with DD#1 b/c her fluid was low and she stopped doing the breathing excersizes it did take awhile but I didnt have to have c-sec

I was induced and did wind up with a c-section. I had a WONDERFUL experience, don't worry. My dd was 9lb, 8oz
