Re: Don't Open If You Believe in Santa!

I don't remember how old I was...but I do remember that my parents tried very hard to keep the jig up for as long as they could. I'm a Christmas Eve baby so Santa always visited our house that night - chatted with my parents, ate cookies and then left us our presents (I saw this with my own eyes one year!)...he would come to my birthday parties too - I even heard the reindeer land on the roof!

I don't remember being upset or anything when I realized he wasn't "real"...it was probably when we'd see 65 of them at the mall, supermarket, gas station, etc that I realized he didn't exist.

Since I'm Jewish I was very young but I was told specifically not to tell my best friend or anyone else.

I don't remember when I stopped believeing but every time I thought I coaught my paretns they told me something silly and I believed it.

I saw the gifts before Xmas and my mom told me that Santa can't deliver everything so he sends stuff early and then just fills the stockings on Xmas eve. Same with the writing on the tags, that my mom was helping him out and that the elves were overworked.

I am sure that my brother told me he didn't exist.

Re: Don't Open If You Believe in Santa!

funny thing is

i left milk and cookies for santa also

neither my mom or dad drink straight milk

they'll put it in coffee - but they don't like it alone

my dad would pour the milk back in the carton and eat the cookies Chat Icon

i was about 13 - it happened gradually. When I was 12 me and my best friend wrote a letter and asked for his signature and if the signatures matched then we would know he was real. well, the signatures matched and to this day we dont know how. . . our parents must have planned something bc my parents have a different style of writing (they were not born here - learned a different script) so we believed for years - even though we would pretend we didnt with our other friends

actually, i ruined the easter bunny and the tooth fairy for all of my friends bc they didnt come to my house. I would get money for my teeth but just from my parents and on Easter I would just get a Perugina egg. I was like "who is the easter bunny" lol
