Does your ped speak to you or your child when you go for well visits?

We had Sienna's 9 months well visit on tues and every time we go I think it's so funny that our ped talks ONLY to her! He talks TO her, not about her to us... kwim? He looks only at her, talks to her about her weight, development, etc... hardly even looks at DH and I!

I don't have a problem with it, I actually think it's great, but he asks her questions that obviously we have to answer like... are you eating solid food? and are you sleeping through the night? And he will continue looking at her as if she's going to answer, but we have to answer.

Does your ped do this or is mine wacky?

My ped asks us all the questions in the beginning and then asks them to DS in a 'baby way'

I love wacky peds, mine is wacky enough without doing this. He talks to DS but also to us, like half and half.

Our Ped asks all milestone and developmental questions to us.

She also talks to DS and comments on how happy he is.

There are several doctors at my Ped's office, but we tend to see one dr. everytime. She's a grandma, and ooh's and ahh's over him like a grandma would when she talks to him.

No, but I think that's the cutest (and funniest) thing ever. Our ped does speak to DD but he doesn't ask about her health or anything. He saves those questions for us .

no...they talk to us about milestones etc

but talk to my kids when they are checking them

I think that's adorable!
Lily's doctor talks to us and her....but Lily is shy around her, so I doubt she would get very far without talking to us.

Chels is to busy screaming her head off for him to be able to speak to her...

Peditrician has always spoken to both my children and I when visiting them.

I think that is soo cute but def strange.

My ped. comes in the room saying "hey Chris, how ya doing?" Like he's gonna answer I love how he interacts with him!!

Ped asks us the developmental questions but interacts with DD asking her questions in a baby voice.

My ped always asked those questions to me. She does interact with Thomas, but the important questions are directed to me.

It sounds like your ped is a whack, but NOT in a bad way...



I see nothing wrong with it, although it seems unusual, but as long as you're happy with the care, I'd say it's fine!

He interacts with her during the exam as he asks me questions. After the exam, he gives me the scoop.

DS's ped will talk to and play with them but will ask us about milestones, etc. He's extremely patient and the boys really like him, which is why we go to him.
