I am a constant courtesy flusher though. Once I have something to flush it is gone. Even if I am home alone. DH though!!! OMG!! never courtesy flushes, I have to walk in afterwards and wonder if he sacraficed a goat in there. So he takes his time in that tourture chamber...I don't get it.

Re toothbrushes: I actually read somewhere that you should put the lid down after um, landing the eagle, because flushing causes germs to shoot as high as five feet in the air. 
My DH has taken everything from economics textbooks to novels to magazines into the bathroom. But so have I...
However, I would NEVER put a magazine rack in the bathroom. Guests and plumbers just don't need to know that...
