Does anyone know what they're looking for with first trimester blood tests?
I had my first appointment yesterday and I have to go for bloodwork (an obstetrics panel). I forgot to ask my doctor what tests they run. Does anyone know what they test for in the first trimester? TIA.

It's for STDs, rubella, RH, Heb B, and HIV.

i was also tested for toxoplasmosis since i have a cat, as well as whatever kind of screening they do for people of ashkenazi descent.

I had the ashkenazi panel done a year ago when we started thinking about TTC. I'm glad I at least got that out of the way so maybe they don't have to take as many vials. I hope they don't take too much blood.

rubella and fragile egg syndrome were two others that I remember. I think a screening for CF too.

yes - this is what my doc did - she also mentioned that in CT testing for chlamydia and HIV is mandatory. my doc also checked sugars, proteins, and a few other things
eta: she also checked to make sure i had immunity to chicken pox
