Do your parents & your inlaws......
get along? Mine get along fine, but I'm still not completely comfortable when we all get together. Sometimes conversations are strained and I feel like I have to keep it moving. They are very different from eachother. Anyone else?

when they are together, which is rare, yes they get along fine. they will not be bff, but thats not what they are supposted to be.

same here. They're not really the same generation. My parents are young, his are old.
His parents get along better w/ my grandparents.

they get along Swimmingly 
they barely see each other though. its funny though, my Dad and MIL have very similar personalities, and my mom and FIL have very similar personalities... but the dads and the moms are very different, but all really like each other, and look forward to getting together

They get along. My mom and MIL actually go to the movies together sometimes, and we always spend the holidays together.

nope....
My parents are not too fond of my MIL after something that happened at my baby shower.... My mom can be friendly with her when need be... however my dad.... just cant fake it....
No prob with my FIL though... my parents, and my FIL are cordial to eachother.

Let's just say ultra conservative and former flower child don't mesh well

Yes, they're very friendly. My mom would befriend Joan Crawford if she thought it would make my life easier. She's very friendly with my MIL - and often helps to "guide" my MIL in her dealings with me, ie how to ask for grandkid access, how to stay on my good side, etc.
I believe deep down MIL has an underlying fear that DH will not outlive me - and she could be cut off from the grandchildren if she doesn't play her cards right. Perhaps a misconception, but really who knows, right?

mine get along really well... they talk on the phone not all the time.. plus my mom went to HS in Brooklyn and graduated the same year with My FIL... they found this out when Dh and I started dating...
They like to talk about their grandchild when they are together..

I could have written that myself! Same situation....they are SO different it is uncomfortable for me at times! My parents are more like our friends....we go riding with them.....we BBQ ect. His parents, we don't really hang out with too much....they act MUCH older then they are, so it's weird....

JT's parents refuse to speak to my parents. My parents have been nothing but hospitable to his and they treat my parents like crap. Not even a thank you to my parents for hosting and paying for our wedding. Not even a hello to my parents at our wedding. A couple of weeks ago, we were all at my niece's communion party, and when my parents got there, they sat down at the same table as JT's parents, said hello to them, and how are you, and JT's parents IGNORED THEM AND GOT UP AND WALKED AWAY!
So, in short, NO. They do not get along. But not by my parent's choice.

They talk only when they have to. They are friendly towards each other but are so opposite. I dont care because I dont care for my inlaws anyway

same here b/c my in-laws live in michigan. but they DO get along very well - kinda strange, they seem like they have been old friends forever.
