I started wearing glasses at age 7 and contacts at age 11 (I'm 34).
My vision is 5.25 in the left with an astigmatism and 5.75 in the right.

The lenses are so darn thick they make my eyes look teeny tiny and weird. 
I Know how you feel... i got these really cute frames and didn't pay for them to make my shave the lenses (to make them thinner) so I got them and the lenses stick out on both sides of the frame b/c they are so thick!!!

Contacts. I have horrid vision, not sure of my numbers, but my contacts are 8.0 and 7.5.

I am -9.5 in both eyes. I can't really see very well with my glasses ( which are the correct perscription) , so I never wear them.

DH is 20/20 and can't understand what it feels like to not be able to see.

Contacts all the time
My vision is 20/500 in both eyes.
I'm basically legally blind without them.
And my hubby is worse.
We are going to have some very blind children one day!

I pay for that as well, but they are STILL sooo thick. 
My contacts Rx is -9.5 in both eyes.

I need glasses for everything besides using the computer, I have an astigmatism. I dont really wear them besides when I am driving, watching TV, or shopping but I should. Dont know the exact #s.
DH is bad...he wears tourig (sp?) lenses

I have no idea what my vision is, but it was perfect 20/20 until I was about 27 years old.
I wear reading glasses now and lately I'm noticing that everything is blurry without them. My vision keeps getting worse and worse.

i have no clue what my vision is....its bad...I wear contacts and have glasses as well
all i know is that i can't see a foot in front of me when i take my contacts out...its really bad
my DH has 20/20 vision

20/500 in both.....glasses since 4th grade, but I didn't have to wear them everyday until like 8th grad when I got contacts. I started wearing my glasses more often when i finally got a pair with extra thin lenses........but i usually wear contacts

I wear contacts (wore glasses since 3rd grade).
I am 20/525 in right eye and 20/500 in left eye. Still getting worse too... 
DH is 20/20 and can't understand what it feels like to not be able to see.
ETA: I am nearsighted
I think mine is similar, maybe a little lower. I got disqualified to be a court Officer, because my vision was so bad. Without my contacts or glasses, I can't even see the E on the chart.
DH where's contacts too, but his vision is not that bad.
I need laser surgery!!
I went and looked at my contact box, and I 4.0 in one eye, and 4.75 in the other. I need to get a stronger presciption, because my eyes are getting worse.
