Do you think you look the weight your scale says?

People always thought that I weighed less than I did. I think I looked my weight.

I think I should look a little better in the tummy area. I lost over 40 pounds in the last year but to me, my stomach still looks fat. I'm 5'7" and 128 pounds so there shouldnt be any fat anywhere IMO. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Take a picture of it!

Seriously - I know I have a tummy but when I look in the mirror it's much worse than when I see it in pics. I think a picture will give you a much more realistic view of yourself.

I've always weighed more than I look. Whenever I go to the doctor's office, they always start the scale way lower than I am and then are shocked when I tell them to add 15 lbs. I think it's because I carry most of my weight in my thighs/hips, and am pretty bony on top, so with clothes on, I look much leaner than I really am.

ME TOO! I have surprised a couple of nurses who have said "you don't look like you weight that much" Chat Icon thanks, I think...Chat Icon

I weight over 150 and they have to put the left hand part of the scale over to the 150, but they always start it on the 100. I am muscular and tall and I lose weight in my neck/face first, so I look like I weight less than I do. I think most people would guess 140-150 for me and I am really like 150-160ish. People don't realize how much weight being tall adds.

What I'm gleaning from these responses is more proof that the actual number is useless, it just doesn't tell the whole story!

When i watch the biggest loser and at the end of the season, they start approaching my weight, I ask DH if I look like that

I do the same thing! Chat Icon

I think so. I am 5 foot tall and most people think I look less. I guess that is good. I have no idea how I am a size 4 or 6 and I am the weight I am. It doesn't make sense.
I weight over a 130 at 5 foot 1 inch tall.

this is me EXACTLY! I have a thin face, thin shoulders and am tall so people always assume I weigh less than I do!

People seem to think I way considerably less than I really do.

When I look in a mirror - no, but when I see myself in pictures - yes & I hate it. Reality check!

Same for me.

This exactly!
