Do you have a TV in DC's room?

I know, Im sure Im going to get a lot of no's, but we bought DD a TV to put in her room last night.

I wanted one in there because when she's sick she wants to lay around and watch TV (which is totally fine) but always in my bed. So I thought having one in there would be nice.

DD is 2 and a half. She cant reach it to turn it on, and doesnt know how to use a remote. So please, tell me some of you have put a TV in there

No. Ella will not have any TV in her room at all.

both my kids have one in their room.

they go on occasionally like when i need mommy time.

I didn't have one until I was 17 and that is when I plan on putting them in their rooms.
I am the oldest of 5 kids with me being 26 and the youngest being 11. Well all of my sibilings have tv's in their room and no one watches tv together anymore.

I put a TV in Thomas' room because after a couple of weeks of BFing in there, I needed a TV to not feel so isolated. I stopped BFing at 4 months and Thomas is now 15 monhts. He never watches TV in there, but I turn on the news when I'm getting him ready in the morning. He watches TV in the family room. I'm not against, however, him watching TV in his room when he's a little older.

We do, but my DS is only 7 mo and its only because I won it last year and no where else to put it. It only goes on when I watch something while nursing him. Not sure what I'm going to do when he's older (the buttons are on the side so it won't be easy for him to figure out how to turn it on)

I never had a tv in my room growing up till I lived in res. for college.
DD will not have one either.

its really a personal decision though

Yes Julia has one in her room (flat screen) and she only watches it at night when its bed time, we are trying to get her to sleep in her own room after co-sleeping for 3 years, so far its not helping--lol

She also watches TV in her room for naps but her TV only plays DVD's right now till we hook it up, and she loves her disney movies!

My dad has wanted to get Jack a flatscreen for his room since I was pregnant (the man is obsessed with TVs) -- he doesn't have one yet. Probably in a few years though. When he's around 5 I guess.

My nephew had one from when he was two. I see nothing wrong with it. To each his own!

Nope, I'm mean.. no tv, phone or computers in their rooms until they are living on their own

I had to buy my own TV when I was in HS.
That's exactly what we'll do with DS.

We planned on putting one in her room, but never got around to it.
So it's tv-less and it's going to stay like that for a while I think.

I do not want one in dd's room until she is much older.

Yes we do. We have a dvd/vcr tv mounted in the corner of the room. We originally put it in there for me when I was feeding him in our glider, etc, but honestly when I need to shower or take care of something it has been such a help keeping him occupied for a bit.

I always had a tv in my room growing up, it helped me to fall asleep.

Nope, not until they are much older....DS watches enough TV in the living room

When we move into his new room I will be getting him one. And I will be moving all his toys in there as well. I have had a TV in my room since I was in 1st grade. I see no problem with it.

I really love the Mickey Mouse one

Yeah I always had one in my room growing up. I didnt watch it all that much though from what I remember.

THanks for your input, I do feel better about it. All FH had to hear was "daddy I want a TV" and she got one the same day

we converted the guest room into a nursery and didn't know wht to do with the tv in there, so it's in ds's room. It isn't hooked up to cable, so he only can watch the very few videotapes that I have found for it. Which is probably only 1 a week...he still much prefers mommy's bed and tv

Chelsea doesn't right now but when she gets older we will probably get her one.
