DMV name change question?
I am finally getting around to changing my name. I lease a car and I have to bring the title of my car to DMV in order to change my name and registration. I only have a lease agreement is that the same as a title?

I think you should have a title also, it should just appear as a lien, with the bank-holders name on it.

If you cannot find your copy call the place you leased it from and they should be able to assist you.

I lease also and had the actual title to the car.
Come to think of it, I sent it in when I got around to changing my name in May and never got it back.....

I didnt change mine on the title
I just called Chrylser and they told me not o worry. When I trade in my car, I just have to bring a copy of my marriage license. I dont have the real title anyways..just a copy. The dealer has the real one
