Did your MILs help plan your baby shower?
My mom is planning my shower, and she feels she should include my MIL.
Background: My MIL is crazy. No, really, she can be very loving, but she's super high maintenance and difficult to be around.
Does anyone have any suggestions for some way my MIL can participate w/out it being a "big" thing, so that if she doesn't do it, my mom can just do it herself at the last minute?
Or do you think just telling my MIL when it is, and asking for people she might like to invite, is enough?

My MIL actually threw me her own shower in NY. She did the same for my wedding as well. I think if they lived in the same state and my mom was planning a shower she would have included MIL if she wanted to be.

My mom threw mine - no help from my MIL. After my bridal shower and the fiasco that was she knew to just do it herself.

MY MIL was very involved in the planning of my baby shower. However, my mother - not so much.

I think just telling her when it is and having her make a list of the people she wants to come is enough--lol
My MIL didn't do anything for my shower (which was fine with me), my mother and I did it all.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! NONE of my ILs had ANYTHING to do with my baby shower....my 2 SILs barely had a hand in my bridal shower!!
Can you tell this irks me!?!?!

My mom and mil threw my shower. They did it as the grandmas. To make her feel involved tell your mom to have her to the favors or centerpieces. This should be enough to keep her busy!

My Mom planned the shower, but my MIL did the favors. (They also offered to pay half, but my parents said no thanks.)

My MIL did not offer to ANYTHING for either of my showers, nor does she invite anyone to anything (her family lives in Canada and up North in VT).
Maybe your mom can let your MIL get the cake or something easy like that.

My MIL and SIL threw my baby shower alone, because they were upset that my mom and sister threw my bridal shower alone and didnt include them. If your mom doesnt ask she might get offended like my MIL did. Maybe your mom can ask her to help with small things like the cake or centerpieces, just so she feels included as well as ask her if she has any additional guests she would like to invite.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure my mother and sister took care of most of the stuff.
My MIL just brought a TON of presents!!
And now that my sister is pregnant, my mother and I are planning her shower - without the help of her MIL.
Nothing against the MILs we have....they just haven't been included. I didn't even think of it, actually.

Thanks so much everyone!
To be honest, it wouldn't have even crossed my mind for my MIL to be involved other than asking whom she'd like to invite, but my mom is sensitive to that stuff, and said if the tables were turned she would like to be included.
I really like the idea of the centerpieces and cake.

My sisters just called my MIL and said this is the date asked if it was ok with her schedule and to get them a list of people she wanted to be there that was it...
