Did Lawmakers give groups ‘reconnaissance’ tours of the Capitol one day before riots?
This is horrifying if true.
One day before a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol, a Democratic lawmaker says, she saw colleagues leading groups on “reconnaissance” tours of the building.
Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) made the startling claim in a Facebook Live broadcast on Tuesday night as she accused Republicans of inciting the pro-Trump mob that vandalized the Capitol and attacked police officers.
Sherrill, a former Navy helicopter pilot, described seeing “members of Congress who had groups coming through the Capitol that I saw on Jan. 5 for reconnaissance for the next day.”
“I’m going see that they’re held accountable,” Sherrill added.

Maybe this is what Liz Chaney was referring to when she mentioned that things are only going to look worse as we go along and that what we saw on 1/6/2021 is just the tip. With the tremendous. persuasive power that Trump has on lay people...I am not surprised that some of those in power are quick to lick Trump's boots too.

Also VB, last night Hannity bashed the New York Times reporting and said that the reports that Mitch was going against Trump was untrue. He claimed HE spoke to Mitch's office. He then called it "salacious nonsense."
Right after, during Laura Ingrahm's show, she confirmed the NYT reporting. 
This is why Fox News is a mess & a perfect (and recent example) of why people should shut off Fox News and OANN.
Also - OANN (that is the "new" Fox News, now that Trumpers have denounced Fox because they reported the fact that Trump did not, in fact, win...but people hate facts) recently reported that Trump was going to be in the clear with evidence that he had votes....never happened.

I could say the same about people in power suggesting and repeating that Trump did win the election, Dominion was rigged, people voted who were dead, the election was stolen, ballots were harvested, trucks came in and dumped ballots.
I could say repeating these statements could get people mad and start rumors. So much so that they create a monster to "storm the capitol" and are told by the President's personal lawyer to engage in "trial by combat" right before they unleash onto the capitol with a noose and gallow and kill an officer.
That is what repeating lies does.
The news simply reports.

I also want to add that at what point is acceptable where they aren't jumping the gun and sourcing information? The news medium, especially today, is rapid. It's breaking, it's info on the ground, as it's happening. It's part of the insta-culture we are in.
But even when there are reports that are cultivated over a period of a year or more, by credible organizations, they are still dismissed by Trumpers. One example is the report about the Trump tax investigation. It took over a year. It was still dismissed as fake news, even though the story was vetted and didn't "jump the gun."
The unfortunate reality is that people have been conditioned by Trump and the right to dismiss legit news organizations. If they don't agree, it means it isn't real.
He even stood up and said, "The things you are hearing and the things you are reading are not true."
That is what a dictator says.

You can see the OP showed this was not done the other day. Whatever credible reporters you are following are jumping the gun too and not getting their information correctly. You can't see how that could cause people to get mad and start rumors?
I could say the same about people in power suggesting and repeating that Trump did win the election, Dominion was rigged, people voted who were dead, the election was stolen, ballots were harvested, trucks came in and dumped ballots.
I could say repeating these statements could get people mad and start rumors. So much so that they create a monster to "storm the capitol" and are told by the President's personal lawyer to engage in "trial by combat" right before they unleash onto the capitol with a noose and gallow and kill an officer.
That is what repeating lies does.
The news simply reports.
No one researches, no one reads stories. They read headlines, quick snippits, just like this one saying the locks were ripped out the day before this happened that you just passed along.
That is what is being reported by numerous organizations. Panic buttons were inexplicably missing. I can’t go to the Capitol and do my own investigation or call up Nancy Drew
