Daycare Questions- I am going to visit one tomorrow
What types of things should I be on the lookout for? what questions should I ask? TIA!!

Ask about the daily schedule, the child to caretaker ratio, payment options, is there outside time- for how long-when, ask to meet to teachers that will be in the room with your child and speak to them for a moment (even small talk) to see what vibe you get.
Also, look at the environment. Do kids look happy, busy, engaged. Are there any kids that are unattended? Are there books? Is it clean?
There are searches you can do online also to get a list of questions to ask. I think parenting.com and pregnancy.com.
Mostly go with your gut. Look beyond the fact that Day Care is not ideal and be honest with your feelings.

Also ask about their security procedures - can anyone just walk right in? Do they have a key card/code for parents or is someone at the front buzzing people in.

I would also check their profile online at the New State office of family and children's services website. It will tell you if they have had any violations. I don't have the site handy since I'm at work, but you could google it.
