Did anyone watch the King's press conference today? I was flabbergasted. He is either getting immense pressure, or is trying to really distract everyone, or is now schizophrenic, or finally realizes that having zero tax revenue is an issue. Or all of the above.
Besides doubling and tripling down on the fact that he did NOTHING wrong, I will summarize a few points:
Spring 2020: He said we do not really need to have brick and mortar school buildings and that we need to "reimagine education" so that we can learn remotely through technology in the future.
Today: Remote learning doesn't work! Kids aren't learning! It's discriminatory! Kids need to be back in school full time for in person learning!
Spring 2020: Domestic violence, having no job or income, alcoholism, drug addiction, child abuse...may be bad BUT IT IS NOT DEATH! If we save even one life these things are all worth it.
Today: People cannot stay home anymore! They need to work! Domestic violence is on the rise! Addiction is becoming a real problem!
Spring 2020 through January 2021: Stay home! Don't gather! Everything is closed! It doesn't matter if you test negative you can still have Covid and not know it! Nursing home patients need to be isolated and alone 24/7 - 365 with no visitors!
Today: We need to open everything. There is no reason why you can't go to the movies or see a Broadway show if you have a negative Covid Test! And these poor seniors! They have been totally isolated! There is no reason not to allow visitors who test negative!

I am only defending his about face regarding the first point. In March and April of 2020, I also honestly thought the whole idea of schooling was going to change. I thought "Kids are on their phones and computers all day long anyway... they'll be fine in virtual school."
By June, I completely changed my mind after seeing first-hand what was happening...

Bingo for all the facts u mentioned! For me, facts about Cuomo started way before 2020 when in such a corrupt way, he decided to pass into law a bill that directly affected my children along with almost 27,000 other children throughout NY. This guy didn’t even have the decency to meet with parents the multiple times we went to see him. He’s vile and a heartless, despicable human being, plain and simple.

Yeah, I agree with everything he said TODAY too. The point is that it is the exact opposite of what he said before. He did not preface his statements - then or now - based on the infection rate.

Because in today's society, they can still get away with it. They just say "I'm sorry they feel that way" or "I'm sorry they misinterpreted my friendliness", and in a couple of days, another politician did something terrible, and everyone changes their focus to the new shiny object.
There's a lot of very qualified women coming up in the ranks, and a lot of very qualified women are currently elected/selected for high-ranking positions, so hopefully the trend continues.

Me too! I think of former congresswoman Katie Hill who was ousted swiftly for having a consensual relationship with an aide and how that was total BS. Women are treated so differently and unfairly, to a completely different standard.

I think he likes to portray that he's this down to earth joking kind of guy. He made inappropriate comments. There are some things you just don't say. Especially if you are in this kind of position. I'm so torn because I like Cuomo. I' cant condone it, I mean you really have to watch what you say these days. I am eager to see what come out in the investigation....
