I feel especially horrible for the son that survived. Not only did he go through the horrible experience (God only knows what he remembers/will remember about that day), but he lost his mother, sister and cousins; AND now he will go through life with people saying what a horrible person his mother was for the choices she made. Sad

the anger and frustration I would feel as her brother and as the family of those other three men is unimaginable.
I feel like I would want to pull whatever remained of her body out of the ground and stomp on it.
Her husband I feel nothing for. I highly doubt she was smoking and boozing on her own.
I just hope losing one of his children and almost another b/c of it is enough for him to NEVER EVER do it again.
I want to write so much more, but out of respect for anyone on here who knew her/him, I will refrain.
god rest the innocent victims of her monumental recklessness.

I just had a feeling it was going to be something like this I am so disgusted. She has wiped out an entire family and part of her own! What a horrible human being.

I feel so sorry for everyone involved........especially her brothers family.......not only the grief......but Now the Anger.......Ugh......I feel so terrible for them! Because this could have been avoided.......if this story is true.

I agree with Ophelia. They were there together. Even if he wasn't doing the drugs/drinking WITH her, he HAD to know as they were there together. So he had to either be participating or simply KNOW and STILL allow her to drive. Bottom line.

I always thought the family knew more than they were stating. The brother calling the police b/c his siister didn't feel well didn't seem right. My hearts go out to the Longo/Bastardi families - they mentioned that they were going to deal with this without animosity - i am sure that is going to change when they hear about these reports.

She was - that was just reported on yesterday. There are reports that a woman in a red minivan with several children was driving aggressively, between lanes, honking, flashing lights and passing people on the shoulder. The police believe it was her

From what I read, they were not there together. The Father was on a Fishing Trip and did not go that weekend.

I think it is completely innappropriate to assume that even if they were together he knew what was going on. Were you there? No. There's just so many variables. He could have been in a different room, he could have been running errands, he could have been doing a million little things that people do..."I was with her all morning, except for when I ran to the store."
Unless he comes out with his own statement or it is proved otherise, we can't assume he was a party in this, or even knew what was going on, or even that he did know but didn't stop it.

Yes that didn't seem right. I have pulled over because I got a migraine while driving and called my husband and he would never call the police etc. He just told me to stay put.
I guarantee that brother was covering something up too- she probably called him and sounded wasted and high and he told her to sit and wait for him and she refused- and I bet he knew she had a drug/alcohol problem (cause lets face it- to be drunk and high at that hour of the day, that's not recreational, that's a real problem) and was trying to keep it from the cops. So he made up the crap that she was disoriented and couldn't see so they would think she had a stroke or an annyeurism or something.
Like they wouldn't find out in the end with the autopsy?
What a freakin' POS this woman was. They were talking in the paper about what a responsible care giver she was... PLEASE.
