Cranky post #5-What gift did Santa not bring you growing up?
Were you guilty of giving your parents the look?
Swimming in a pool of gifts...but nowhere to be found was "the one?"
I really wanted those rollerskates that were low and looked like sneakers...my neighbor told my mom that they left cuts on the bottom of her daughter's feet...soooooooo bummed. I got white tall roller derbies instead.

Easy bake oven. Every year i circled it in the toys r us catalog. Never got it. I told my bff the man who buys me that i will marry. I mentioned it to dh (then bf) in a conversation when we started dating on how I always wanted it. The following year he bought me it for my bday. So i finally got it at 24 yrs old. I knew he was a keeper.

A Cabbage Patch kid. There was only one left in the store during the craze when my mom went to buy it. She bought the one and sat me down on Christmas Eve (as I recall, I was around 10) and explained that she could only buy one and that they would be giving it to my younger sister...because I would understand better than she would (even though we're only 1.5 years apart. ).
However, my b-day is in March and I got mine then...a little preemie named Ada Faith!

Every year I wanted a kitten. My parents thought it would be too much work, and got me gerbils instead.
Like gerbils are anything like a kitten.  I finally got a kitten when I was 13 after 10 years of asking.

i literally asked for a puppy every year that i can remember! the second DH and I got an apt. that would allow dogs he agreed to go and "look" at yellow lab puppies and we came home with our first baby. Well almost 5 years later.... here's my long overdue gift from santa. i always tell him that he is the luckiest dog because he got an owner who wanted nothing but a dog her whole life. he is beyond spoiled.

I got the townhouse. every year I asked for the damn dream house - my mom said it was too big. I still ask why she couldnt just get the dream house
I swear, if she buys it for my coming DD I will play with it more!

I had always wanted a Lite Brite...
DH bought it for me about 2 months after we started dating (1999)
I still have it...and he was shocked that I had actually played with it
Maybe i'll let DD1 play with it...
Who am I kidding..thats my toy and I'm not sharing

The Barbie Dream House. Instead I got a small doll house but the Barbie doll could not stand up in it like she could in the dream house so I was upset and almost never played with it.

This is so funny... as soon as I read the topic I knew exactly what it was that I never got... An easy bake oven!!!!
Growing up we didnt go away on vacations (just upstate to families houses etc. etc.) but we were VERY spoiled at Christmas. My parents got us tons of gifts, for example we would get not one Nintendo system but one for each of us! However I never got that darn easy bake oven!!
I bought it for DD last year when she was 3 and my mom even made a joke that I only got it for her because i've always wanted one.
