Cleaning behind Gas Stove

For those with gas stoves, how do you clean behind/under them? Do you pull the stove from the wall? Is the wiring behind the stove long enough to pull it out a good distance? We've been living in our house for almost four years and we've never done this. I don't want to think about what's been collecting there all this time Chat Icon

Re: Cleaning behind Gas Stove

I've never cleaned behind it and don't plan on it! Besides a little dust, what could be behind there?

I have a drawer at the bottom and if you pull it all the way out it exposes the floor beneath it, and yes I can pull my out, but I only do it once in a blue moon to clean the sides of the stove. If you pull it out a little, you should be able to look behind and see how long the gas line is.

Re: Cleaning behind Gas Stove

well we had a gas leak from our stove the 2nd week in the house, so when keyspan came they just pulled it out.

it should have enough room to pull it out. think of it this way- they had to hook it up with it out a ways so that they could reach behind it.

pull it out a small amount so you can see behind it and see how much line you have. the eletrical won't be the issue it would be the gas line you need to be concerned about

do it in small amounts and keep checking
