CIO moms- what age did you start?

Due to my DD not sleeping, I am thinking doing a modified version of CIO-since I tried everything else.

She is 4 1/2 months- is that too early?

Any tips too from those who did it successfully?

I did it with my son. we started when he ws 5 months and in a few nights, he was going to sleep on his own.

was 6.5 months (only bc at 6 months we were away, and wanted to wait til we got home....).....and sleeping thru the nite by the 3rd nite.....ahhhhhhhhh, felt soooooooo good looking at the clock at 6am and finally hearing her wake up after going to bed at 8!!!!!

ok- so did you all go back in and reassure DC or just let them cry for a set amount of time. I am still confused on this one.

I think it was about 4 months - once I went back to work we tried it. It worked!!

Ped said not to do it until they're 6 months at least.

my ped suggested I try a modified verison at 5 months since DD was not napping anymore. However, she doesn't cry. She just doesn't sleep Go figure how to solve that one

6 months here too..Best thing I ever did. I had to. My 3 yr old will only sleep with me and I was determined not to have to go through it again. He had to always be rocked to sleep. After his last bottle I give him his pacifier, kiss him and put him to sleep. He cries a little, mostly though because hes teething. I just keep going in to give him his pacifier if it falls out. He sleeps till morning

Thanks everyone for the advice- I think we are going to wait a month. She is teething too so I feel horrible to cause her more pain. I guess we will just ride it out.
